The Interpreting and Translating Service at the Manukau SuperClinic also uses the Dialhog website but for a completely different reason - most of the translators are part-timers who are called in as they're needed.

Texting has proved to be a very efficient way of communicating up-coming jobs to them, particularly when there is a sudden requirement.

Using the Dialhog Groups function they text all the interpreters able to translate in the required language asking if anyone is available. The first one to text back gets the job.

Strategic Security provides staff for large capacity events, including those held at the Vector Arena and Eden Park.

Most of the staff are part-time and have other jobs. In the past, this made it hard to organise rosters, as it would take many phone calls and emails to get hold of everyone.  Now, when it comes to organising the staff for an event such as a concert or a rugby international, it's much easier to check availability by sending out a text to all staff.  Those who are available text back and later receive a confirmation text with their start time and any other instructions needed.

Strategic Security have also divided the staff into groups such as Team Leaders or Event Staff so that they can text requests or instructions to specific groups of staff.
